Paleochora is an important tourist resort, it is located at the south-southeast coast of Chania Prefecture and its distance from Chania is 74 km.

Regarding harbour substructures, it offers 2 approaching points: (a) the eastern dock (Skala) and (b) the harbour south of the town, which has specifications of a tourist and fishing harbour.

It is linked by boat with Sfakia, Sougia and the island of Gavdos, areas which are also developing in tourism.

Visitors who cross Samaria Gorge end up at Agia Roumeli and from there they are transported by ANENDYK boats towards Chora Sfakion or Paleochora.

Also:

(a) there is a boat which links Paleochora with Elafonisi.

(b) mini cruises visit the marine life of the area (dolphins).

Paleochora offers many restaurants, hotels, rent rooms, tourist offices, mini-super markets, and also public Services, banks, medical centres etc.

There are also many interesting places with unique natural beauty which the visitor can enjoy.
